My Story

Alanna Cline has been hiking, climbing, and cross-country skiing with her family in the Canadian Rocky Mountains since she was very young.  She has autism and attention deficit disorder, and to spend time exerting herself in nature is very therapeutic.  At age 17, she was introduced to photography through a club run conjointly by the Autism Asperger’s Friendship Society and The Ability Hub in her home town of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  The group received instruction on photography from volunteers, went on photographing excursions, and had fun together. Alanna got hooked on photography!  Now she is rarely seen without her Canon camera around her neck.  Her favorite pictures have been taken while staying at the William Watson Lodge, a facility for people with disabilities in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, Kananaskis Country, Alberta, Canada.  She also enjoys the city parks of Calgary and has ventured to Vancouver Island on the West coast of Canada and the prairie landscape of Saskatchewan to the east.  She loves nature, and uses her innate creativity to capture images of beauty.  Her work has been shown in juried shows in Calgary at Indefinite Arts and the Spark Disability Festival.
